Assen/The Netherlands, 17 May 2010 -
Yelmer Buurman was very impressive during the races in Superleague Formula last weekend. After being quickest in free practice on Friday his qualification was a little bit disappointing ending 5th.

The first race was very good while he noted the quickest time of all drivers during the race. After a good start he was on the way to a podium position. Unfortunately his engine stalled during the pitstop and he lost at least 6 positions. He fought back and fans could enjoy some unforgettable overtakings. He ended the race in 5th position. Second race the field was turned around and Yelmer started in the back of the field. He ended the race in 7th position. This gave him a ticket to the fantastic finals with the 6 best drivers of the weekend. Yelmer had an amazing start and went from 4th to the first position. He could not hold this and was 3rd in turn 3. He tried to overtake number 2 with a daring manouvre, but it didn't work. Fans went mad and Yelmer finished in 3rd place. Winning eur 50.000,--, getting a lot of fans and climbing to P5 in the standings. His aim is becoming Superleague Formula Champion for AC Milan in 2010. His competitors received a serious warning last weekend.

Robert Doornbos suffered a terrible weekend. He could not wish more bad luck. He will forget this weekend and looks forward to revenge next weekend in Magny Cours. His car will be improved after the Azerti team showed they can deliver a winning car. Expectations are that he will be in the front again next week.
